It’s a new month that means we’re back with our monthly digital digest. In this article we’ll pass through the updates that took place in November on social media. 

What are the updates?

YouTube


A new feature, YouTube Handles, was introduced. Basically, it is your channel’s name that will look like: @username. Such a feature is already on Facebook, TikTok, Twitter and Instagram. Clearly, YouTube is having handles so it will be easier for users to find profiles they might like. In addition, it is beneficial for creators as well (it will be easier for them to engage with their subscribers in comments section, Shorts and video description).

From now on YouTube you can zoom in on any video you’d like and get a clearer image of a video you watch. Simply, all you need to do is to zoom in and it freezes the way you zoomed it. 

The way the video description looks was changed as well. Once you expand the description of a video you will see the video chapters added automatically.

They changed the way buttons look too - they are more round now. Besides, YouTube also introduced new fonts for YouTube video titles. 

Instagram


Profile Song feature is introduced on Instagram. They still test the feature but pretty soon users will be able to add a song to their profile, for now users wait for more details from the Instagram team. 

TikTok

New updates were introduced for TikTok Live. From now on you can add 5 guests at the same time to your TikTok Live video.

Also an age policy was introduced in November meaning that to host Live a user must be 16 and over. Users who are younger than 16 could not have access to monetization or send virtual gifts.
