Social Media Platform Updates

Instagram is Testing Full-Screen Static Posts

Instagram is experimenting with full-screen photo posts and a vertical scroll format, similar to TikTok. This could make regular posts feel more immersive and story-like.

Collaboration  Feature Now Live

Instagram now lets two accounts co-author a single post. These shared posts display both usernames, combine likes/comments, and appear in both users’ feeds. This feature is also expanding to Reels and Stories, allowing for shared reach and interaction from a single post or story.

Zenly Is on the Rise

  1. Zenly is quickly becoming a favorite among Gen Z.
  2. Originally a French app, it was later acquired by Snapchat.
  3. The app lets users see friends’ live locations, exchange emojis and photos, and complete mini-quests.
  4. Main use case? Quickly finding friends in real-life spots like shopping malls.

WhatsApp Adds Business Menu Buttons

Businesses on WhatsApp can now send interactive menus with up to 10 preset options. Users can select 1 to 3 responses with just a tap.

To access this feature, you’ll need to partner with one of WhatsApp’s 8 official providers.

Facebook Now Lets You Hide Like Counts

You now have two options:

  1. Hide like counts on your own posts.
  2. Hide like counts on posts from others in your feed.
  3. To adjust: Go to the settings→ Reaction Settings

YouTube Expands Shorts

YouTube continues to grow its TikTok-style Shorts. If your Short goes viral, it can bring in thousands of views organically. Plus, the YouTube Audio Library offers free music to use in your videos. Read more about how YouTube Shorts algorithms work.
